Devlog 21.12.20


Oh hey, long time no see! I even forgot which changes were made since I posted the last devlog, now, let me see...

Changes:

  • Changed the CSS to make the menus and the HUD more appealing. Now it's bright yellow instead of red and has a glow around it. Red was kind of an eye sore. Also changed the style of the tables containing the scoreboard and controls. Now they're nicely rounded and blue. Changed the buttons to have animations.
  • Added hints, they can be seen under the controls when the game is paused.
  • The game now pauses when you switch to another tab, so that you don't get killed accidentally.
  • Teleportation now makes a sound!
  • Teleportation now also occurs when you press the key and not when you release it, since this way it's much faster, giving you a higher chance to get away.
  • Added a magnet powerup to the heavy UFOs, it attracts other powerups towards your ship.
  • Changed the powerup drop probabilities, so that the turrets drop rarer.
  • Also buffed the turrets: light ones now shoot three bullets instead of one, and heavy ones have a higher firerate.
  • Removed turrets' ability to pick up powerups, cause it was really annoying when they picked up a magnet and started siphoning powerups.
  • Added a flame effect to player's ship.

...aaaaaaaaaaaaand I think that should be it. And even if it isn't, it's not like anyone will notice.

Anyway, I'm planning to finish the game until 2021 and release it on Newgrounds.
